If DUL didn’t have a mobile version I’d probably play them evenly.I have been asked numerous times about the current rank distribution in Dota 2. So in the end it’s still preference but I prefer DUL just a little more. And also they still have a courier and actually fight other players. Bigger viewer/twitch number leads to more discussion, and the heroes/legends themselves are better designed artistic concept wise. And here’s hoping the 2v2v2v2 rumor is true! The new content coming with underlords changing play style and new boards, etc make me want to commit more time to DUL. I won’t judge the art because DUL has more boards releasing soon). (If TFT has a bigger board it’d be better because of the hexes. The DUL board in my opinion is better, right now at least. DUL already went through op hunter, op mages, op knights, all in a month. And valve has a history of shaking up the meta by their renowned balance patches. Some people prefer that, I prefer having comps have character. Because DUL requires commitment to a comp you have to plan a lot more, while in TFT comps sort of mesh together because of the lower requirements. The synergies I feel are better on DUL than TFT, and probably the opposite reason why you might feel otherwise. TFT downright stated they won’t do this for performance. Right now they have plans to implement changing the heroes when they level. The item system is superior from any of the gamesĪrt style wise DUL has the best. While I rather it adopted the exp system of either AC or TFT, it is the same as DAC so I got used to it better.

I’m used to the pace of the DAC mod and underlords is closest to it.

And if I have to use the bathroom for an extended period of time I can hop off the pc and play on my phone and reconnect to the same game. I can play on my commute and when I travel. I settled with DUL because:īiggest reason is mobile. I won’t consider AC bc it’s not from a big studio and he worst art style. I'm not sure I can say that about the others, though I enjoy those more at this very moment.Įh, I played extensively both games. The playerbase for TFT is also the biggest and filled with no life neckbeards that will pretty much do the balancing for them. It's a lot easier for them to balance due to the fact that there's no physical skill/ reaction time/ apm that they have to take into account. If you can enjoy it, stick with it, as Riot is the only one that's going to put money behind their game in NA, and I'm sure it will get better over time. The draws are rng, the items are rng, the carousel is rng, half the pieces are useless, making the draws that much more rng dependent. The only skill ceiling I see for tft (as of now, I'm sure it will be balanced sooner or later) is who has the best damage control in the games where they don't get the draws, and just micro manage their way into a top 3. I've yet to play a game of tft where one guy didn't just stomp the whole game because he got the nice draws. Auto chess was much more enjoyable and felt like skill levels were much more easily apparent due to the fact you get a consistent experience from game to game. Along with massive imbalance which just makes the RNG that much worse because only certain pieces are viable. The lack of meters, no bot mode and the poor UI for Team Fight Tactics has me putting it on the bench for now, but I will be taking another look at it if they can ever put these things in. If you're already invested in one of the franchises, start with their version of the game and then try the other one. Once you have a grasp of what's going on in Underlords, then try Team Fight Tactics to see which one you like better. I would recommend for completely new players who may not have played League or Dota to start with Underlords.

What Team Fight Tactics has on it's side is that the games are quicker and the potential is there for deeper gameplay whenever they figure out how they're going to balance the game and they can get the proper tools into the game to inform the player of what's happening. These features alone (Which are non-existent in the current iteration of Team Fight Tactics) make the game much easier to learn.

You can also fast forward and not have to wait for the entire timer thus speeding up the game because you're not waiting between rounds. It has tons of information available to the user through the UI, a bot mode that has options for you to take your time before turns. As someone who has never played League or Dota, I think Dota Underlords is an easier barrier to entry for players who are not familiar with the Heroes in either game.
